Burj Khalifa Lit Up In Tri-Colours To Mark The Republic Day Of India

Burj Khalifa, the tallest structure in the world was lit up in tri-colours on the eve of 68th Republic Day Of India. The same show will be played at 6.15pm, 7.15pm and 8.15pm on 26th January along with complimenting Dubai Fountain shows.

“Tonight we celebrate India’s 68th Republic Day with a spectacular LED illumination of the Indian National flag on #BurjKhalifa! #India”, tweeted the official Twitter handle of Burj Khalifa on 25th January.

Burj Khalifa is 2,722 ft tall and is the world’s tallest freestanding structure. It was named in honour of the ruler of Abu Dhabi and president of the United Arab Emirates, Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan. The design of Burj Khalifa is derived from patterning systems embodied in Islamic architecture.

According to the structural engineer, Bill Baker of SOM, the building’s design incorporates cultural and historical elements particular to the region such as the spiral minaret.

Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan will be the Chief Guest at the Republic Day parade in India.
